WLGC Road Trip

Would you like to tour the Rock Island Arsenal Firearms Museum?
There has been some discussion recently about the possible closing of the RIA firearms museum in the future. This is a world class museum of arms and something every firearm enthusiast should see. It would be a shame for the Midwest to lose this historical treasure.
If you are interested in going please contact Dave at email@example.com
He is coordinating the trip. The museum hours are 12:00p.m. – 4:00 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday. To accommodate people with day jobs this would probably be scheduled for a Saturday.
Pistol Bay Project:
On August 28th and 29th the WLGC had the pistol bays closed due to berm work. Morrison Trucking from Atalissa, Iowa came out and worked on Pistol Bay #1 and raised the East side berm. This was a safety issue that needed to be addressed.
Also, the grade on the pistol bay road and drainage issue in bay #5 and #6 were also addressed. Thank you to our members for their understanding on the short notice of the closure for these improvements.
Here is a before look of the East side of bay #1.

Another new addition to the club
As of Monday, Sept. 11th the club will have purchased a used golf cart to be used by the RO’s while on duty for public hours. This will be very helpful to them while getting their duties done. Let’s just take a moment to thank all the RO’s that do work at the club! Thank you for your hard work!
The golf cart will also be useful during matches held at the club and for any new member tours, and will eventually carry a medical kit on board.
The WLGC also has other ongoing projects going on now. The electronic gate project is in the final stages and all members will be advised when it is finished and they can start to use their cards at the gates. Directions will also be sent out at that time. The building committee has also been working on a plan for the indoor range to submit to the board for approval.
If any of the WLGC members are interested in buying a car decal please notify Lisa Rundall at firstname.lastname@example.org. These are being made at a local business Cardinal Sign & Graphics.
The WLGC will be doing the Hawkeye Postal League again this year from mid -December to mid-March. Please contact Bill Besgrove at email@example.com is you’re interested in participating.
Karen Streets, with help from Cindy Fetters, has made a WLGC flyer to pass out at events and give to local gun shops in the area to get the word out about what a great facility we have and matches that are held at the club. Thank you, Karen!
Find us on Facebook or visit www.westlibertygunclub.org to keep up on things at the range.
As of September 1st, Warren Bishop has resigned from the board and as a Range Officer for personal reasons. We would like to thank Warren for all his hard work over the years and for all the great things he has done for the club. Thank you, Warren!!
