Announcement from President:
The West Liberty Gun Club Needs your Help:
Would you like to become a Range Officer for the club? Range Officers typically work one weekend shift (Saturday or Sunday) per month, roughly noon to 5 p.m. (the club is open to the public 1-5 p.m.)from March thru November. When on duty, Ros are “in charge” of the club. Duties include welcoming members and the public, checking people in and providing information, collecting money, supervising shooters as necessary, and enforcing the Range Rules. Also, they may answer the phone, sell ammunition or targets, do light maintenace and clean up, and process new memberships and renewals. Typically, there are two Ros on duty for each shift. After completing one year of service, Range Officers receive free club membership for as long as they continue to serve.
In order to become a Range Officer for the WLGC, you must;
- Be a member in good standing, at least 21 years of age
- Complete the NRA Range Safety Officer course and become certified with the NRA (certification must be maintained)
- Work at least two regular shifts as observer/helper with certified Range Officer(s)
- Become completely familiar with the WLGC Range Rules and club policies and procedures
If this sounds like something you would enjoy, please consider it-the club NEEDS NEW RANGE OFFICERS!
I will be offering the NRA Range Safety Officer course which is required, on SATURDAY, JULY 29 at 9:00 a.m. at the club. This is an all-day class which will last until approximately 5:30 p.m. (with lunch and other breaks). Cost of this class is $75 and will be open to anyone wishing to take it. IF YOU ARE BECOMING A RANGE OFFICER FOR THE CLUB, THE COST IS REDUCED TO $50 and the $50 is reimbursed by WLGC when you officially become a Range Officer! (There are additional fees charges by the NRA for your certification.)
If you wish to become a Range Officer for WLGC and wish to take this class, or if you just wish to obtain this certification, YOU MUST PRE-REGISTER as soon as possible by contacting me as below! If thereis insufficient interest, I will reluctantly cancel the class. I hope you will consider this important way you can assist your club! Feel free to contact me with any questions.

Please continue to sign in with RO on duty while the electronic gate is being worked on. Instructions on use of gate will follow after completion. The completion of gate is expected in late July.
Just a reminder that when bringing guests to the range during the week to please have them sign waivers. We are having people shoot who have not signed.
Another beautiful day at the WLGC on July 1st , four more students taking their responsibility seriously! Thanks to all for the hard work and open minds. Ladies Only Fundamentals of Concealed Carry is coming up next on August 5th.
If you would have told me that it was going to be barely 70 degrees on June 25th I wouldn’t of believed it, the USPSA match had 44 shooters show up! Everyone had a great time and enjoyed the stages including the classifier. Go over to the WLGC Facebook page to see some videos of the match. The WLGC wants to thank everyone for coming out and give a big thank you to Ian, Jim, and any of the other crew that put the match together!
